MEDICAL OFFICE SURVEY ON PATIENT SAFETY CULTURE

University of Louisville Physicians (ULP) is excited to announce that we have taken the first steps toward promoting a patient safety culture that aligns with the mission and vision of ULP!

The Medical Office Survey on Patient Safety Culture, sponsored and developed by The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) was administered as a baseline assessment to Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Ste. 370. We would like to thank our chairs, executive directors and managers for their support and thank you to our team members for completing the survey!

The mission of UofL Physicians is: Patient-centered care delivered with compassion and excellence. Being able to achieve our mission each day, with each patient means evaluating areas of improvement, as well as highlighting our strengths. This includes evaluating patient safety at UofL Physicians.

Patient safety directly impacts each patient. From communication to preventing errors and decreasing infections, we all play an important role in the safety of our patients when they interact with our clinics and providers.
This survey allowed providers and staff to voice their opinions about the culture of patient safety and health care quality at their medical offices.

Participation in the AHRQ Survey will help ULP:

    • Raise provider and staff awareness about patient safety
    • Assess the current status of patient safety culture identify strengths and areas for patient safety culture improvement
    • Examine trends in patient safety culture change over time
    • Evaluate the cultural impact of patient safety initiatives and interventions
    • Conduct comparisons within and across organizations

Patient safety begins with you! UofL Physicians team members and providers are the key to improving our patient safety culture. Thank you for helping us make UofL Physicians a patient-centered organization today and every day.
