The Center for Healthcare Innovative Risk Reduction Practices (CHIRRP)

For 15 years, Kentuckiana Medical Reciprocal Risk Retention Group (KMRRRG) has been the medical malpractice carrier for ULP, Inc. and its physicians, University Medical Center, and the University of Louisville Medical and Dental Residents and Students. KMRRRG continues to maintain a strong financial position and is uniquely poised to share the success of the program through innovative collaborations with its insureds. With support from the Subscriber's Advisory Committee and the Kentucky Department of Insurance, KMRRRG has developed the framework for its insureds to submit proposals and request financial support for projects that demonstrate the ability to reduce medical malpractice claims.

The Center for Healthcare Innovative Risk Reduction Practices, or CHIRRP, is a new collaborative initiative combining KMRRRG resources and the needs of its insureds with a focus on proactive risk reduction. Qualifying insureds can submit proposals for consideration to the CHIRRP Council, which is comprised of patient safety and quality leadership, clinical faculty and staff, and risk management and insurance professionals affiliated with KMRRRG. The submission of proposals will be managed by the CHIRRP Council who will critically review each proposal and determine which projects receive financial support. At this time, we are excited to announce that proposals are now being accepted for consideration. All proposals must conform with guidelines and conditions as outlined on the template and must be submitted by 5:00PM EST, June 31, 2019. Interested applicants should contact Jennifer Armstrong at [email protected] for application and proposal guideline details.
